God will take care of everything in His time.

We had a murder in a nearby town this last week.
A police officer was shot and killed by a criminal .
When they asked the criminal why he did it he said, "the police killed my brother and I wanted them to know how it feels to lose a loved one."
Wow!
Yes, the police do use deadly force when necessary and no I do not think they go around just looking to use deadly force.
But the comment brings up an interesting point in our current society, it seems to me that we are looking to right wrongs and often seeking revenge. Bullying has even become a problem in our schools.
You said something ugly about me so I will say something ugly about you. You hit me so I will hit you. You killed my brother, police, I will get you back by taking the life of one of your own.
How do we reconcile this behavior in our society?
First, there is a God who judges sins and deeds and the hearts of men. He has it all in control and judgement is not our place.
We have all done it, don't get me wrong I confess I am not innocent here but we can judge incorrectly, only God know all and sees all and knows a man's heart.
Paul Said, "For I know nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this but he who judges me is the Lord. Therefore, judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes who will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one's praise will come from God." (I Corinthians 5:2)
Secondly, we do sometimes find ourselves bearing the burden of unjust behavior directed against us. How do we handle that? Knowing that God will handle our burdens and adversaries is a great comfort.
"Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) He will give us comfort in our time of need.
We are instructed to "...forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."(Matthew 6:14)
And when we offer our forgiveness to others we are released from the burden of not forgiving. The person who harmed us may never know we are forgiving them but we ourselves are free.
I pray for this man to come to know the Lord and the forgiveness he offers.
I pray for the officer's family that they may find great comfort in their time of need.
I pray for myself that I may not judge others and therefore have my sins forgiven.
And I pray that we will see a God who is in control, forgives us so freely, handles our burdens and cares, so that we can live in peace free from the thought of handling all this world has to offer on our own.
